Research Programs - Penn State Cancer Institute
Research Programs
The three research programs of Penn State Cancer Institute encompass a range of topics and disciplines. Investigators from across Penn State participate in basic, translational and clinical research in these areas.
Experimental Therapeutics
The Experimental Therapeutics research program discovers and characterizes novel agents and pathways; translates these discoveries through innovative, preclinical proof-of-principle studies; and provides more effective cancer therapies to our patients.
Mechanisms of Carcinogenesis
The Mechanisms of Carcinogenesis research program investigates the mechanisms of carcinogenesis induced by viruses, chemicals and environmental/dietary agents through basic research.
Cancer Control
The Cancer Control research program conducts research and interventions to reduce the incidence and mortality from cancer in Pennsylvania and nationally.
