Scientific Program:Next-Generation Therapies
Research Interests
Dr. Yasin Uzun uses bioinformatics and genomics methods to understand gene regulation at the molecular level. For this purpose, he employs Systems Biology approaches to utilize next generation sequencing data, with a particular emphasis on single-cell genomics for modeling epigenetic control. His studies in this field reveal the molecular mechanisms that switch the genes on and off during cell differentiation. In this way, he investigates how the dysregulation in these control mechanisms are associated with various genetic diseases with a particular focus on cancer and how this information can present novel therapeutic opportunities.
